SIGNÉ TURCOT est un collectif créé par et pour répondre à la problématique turcot.
Nous pensons qu’un projet urbain d’une telle envergure ne doit pas passer inaperçu.
Nous ne sommes ni pour ni contre le changement, mais nous voulons faire apparaître le changement.
Nous ressentons la nécessité d’interpeller la communauté sur ce gigantesque changement urbain. Loin de vouloir nous substituer à des urbanistes professionnels, nous voulons donner une forme artistique à cette interpellation, parce que la question posée par Turcot nous semble éminemment esthétique, comme toutes les grandes questions politiques.
Notre intention principale est d’envisager le périmètre Turcot comme une zone franche où des idées folles et des espoirs intelligents sur la mobilité et le futur de la ville circuleraient librement. Turcot pourrait ainsi devenir un lieu d’innovation, au lieu d’une chance manquée de voir la ville autrement.
Nous souhaitons nous donner les moyens d’interpeller toutes les parties concernées, que ce soient les citoyens directement touchés ou les autres Montréalais, mais aussi les utilisateurs de l’échangeur et les forces politiques. Nous souhaitons également susciter l’intérêt des artistes pour ces questions. Notre collectif est une structure ouverte vouée à accueillir d’autres propositions, d’autres membres.
Nous souhaitons donner un contrepoint à la communication du MTQ tout en restant indépendants de la mobilisation citoyenne qui existe déjà autour de l’échangeur. Notre intervention est strictement autonome et artistique.

We are a collective created by and to respond to the issues of Turcot.
We are of the opinion that an urban project of this size shouldn’t pass unnoticed.
We are nor against nor for changes, but we want to make the changes apparent.
We feel the urgency to question the community on this enormous urban changes. Without pretending to be professional urban planners, we want to give an artistic form to this call as the questions raised by Turcot seem mainly esthetic, as all big political questions are.
Our main intention is to see the Turcot site as a temporary autonomous zone where crazy ideas and intelligent hopes on mobility and the future of the city can circulate freely. This way Turcot can become a place of innovation, instead of another missed chance to see the city different.
We wish to give us the means to call upon all concerned parties: the local residents and other Montreal citizens, the users of the interchange and the political forces. We also want to gain the interest of artists for these issues. Our collective is an open structure which welcomes other propositions and other members.
We want to make a counterpoint to the communication of the MTQ, while staying independent from the existing citizen’s mobilization against the current traffic project. Our interventions are autonomous and purely artistic.
